The Agarwal family · Since 1981

Founded by our father.
Carried on by his sons.

A family house of bridal wear, forty-five years in the making.

1981

It began with a saree.

In 1981, our father Prakash Agarwal opened Navdurga Saree in Patna. One shop, a sharp eye for cloth, and a simple rule: nothing leaves our hands unless it is worthy of the occasion it is made for. From the very first day, the making happened where India's finest craftsmanship lives, in our own workshop in Surat.

2010

Then came the lehengas.

In 2010, his sons, Prateek and Keshav Agarwal, started JMS Studio as the family's bridal lehenga house. For years we worked behind the scenes, crafting for showrooms and boutiques across the country. The name on the tag changed. The standard never did.

2020

The day we opened our doors to you.

When the world shut down, everything changed. Brides could no longer walk into a store, and the showrooms we supplied could no longer open theirs. So we did the thing we had never done in forty years: we went direct. We built JMS Studio online and, for the first time, sold straight to the bride herself. Today our lehengas travel to homes across India and around the world, carried as much by word of mouth as by anything we say about ourselves.

Why brides choose us.

We are not a marketplace that lists everything and stands behind nothing. Only what we would be proud to see a bride wear earns a place on our shelves.

01

Curated, never dumped.

Every design is chosen, not uploaded in bulk. If it is here, it earned its place.

02

Ten times the choice.

A bride shopping with us sees at least ten times the variety of her local store, without leaving home.

03

Straight from the makers.

No middle showroom, no marked-up tag. You pay for the lehenga, not the shop floor it sits on.

04

A fit that holds.

Across India, a local tailor can undo months of planning in one alteration. Our own master tailors cut and finish every piece, so the fit is right before it reaches you.

For the bride, and the family who worries for her.

We know what it means to choose a wedding outfit from a screen, sometimes from another country, for the most photographed day of a life. So we make it safe. You see real photographs of your lehenga before it ships. It is made to your measurements by our master tailors. It reaches you anywhere in the world, with a real person on WhatsApp the whole way. This is our family's name on every piece. We treat it that way.
